WOOD
We have yet to see much in the way of birdlife within the woods although one does hear them and otherwise note their presence. The area around Open Pond in the centre of the wood is reported to be teeming with birds.
Breeding birds include Buzzard, Tawny Owl, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Coal, Marsh and Long-tailed Tits, Goldcrest, Nuthatch, Treecreeper and Bullfinch. Among the more unusual birds seen in winter have been Woodcock, Grey Wagtail and Raven.
